HOLA!!
I hope you all had a good fourth of july! Peru is still great, here’s some
updates.
Wednesday
The temple was good as always, I’m going to miss going every week. Hermana Webster and I decided to do an ab workout before bed but ended up just laughing most of the time, so we got a good ab workout anyways. It was super fun, I love her so much, we have a ton of fun together!! Our evening teacher, hermano Quintana, got married on Tuesday to one of the other teachers here, so he told us a bit about that and we got to see some pictures so that was fun.
Friday
Super normal, but WE COMMITED EMERSON TO BAPTISM!! That was super awesome, and he’s still progressing!
Saturday
Hermano Cajo (morning teacher), Hermano Quintana, and President Moore played soccer with us at physical activity!! It was so much fun! It was those three against our district of six, and they actually kind of destroyed us….hermano Quintana is waaaaay good and hermano cajo is pretty good too. It was so much fun! In the Elder Bednar devotional we watched last Sunday, he said to get a cheap book of Mormon and to read it focusing on a specific topic or question. I’ve started to do that and I’m focusing on the character and attributes of Christ. It’s so cool how much of a difference that makes! I actually look forward to reading the book of Mormon and I’m learning a ton! It’s the coolest.
Sunday
We had a super good testimony meeting and really good classes and meetings the rest of the day. Sundays are the best days here, they’re so spiritual and we learn so much.
Monday
We definitely celebrated the fourth of July! All the Americans wore red, white, and blue, and we sang America songs in class so that was way cool. Even some of the teachers wore red white and blue, and wished us all a happy America day! For lunch, the comedor workers made
us fried chicken, French fries, and watermelon and it was the BEST! They had also made a cake to look like an American flag!!! They are the COOLEST!! Then for dinner we had cheeseburgers!!! Not quite the same as an American cheeseburger, but a cheeseburger! And there were sublimes so it was quite an amazing day!! The comedor workers were so excited to give us American food and it was a great day for everyone!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
That’s about it for this week, the next update will be from the Peru, Trujillo North mission!!!!! Super exciting, but kinda scary too…..and I’m super sad to leave my companion…but it will be such a great adventure, I’m so excited to go teach real people!!! Love you all, have a fantastic week!!!
