Well, my last week at the CCM was great! On Sunday, Elder Mortensen, Hermana Webster, Hermana Moeaki and I spoke in church and
that was good. Hermana Webster introduced herself as me so that was funny.
Monday we packed and watched 17 miracles. I didnt sleep much cuz Hermanas Webster, Johnson and Allen got up at 4 to leave to Cuzco. It was super
sad saying goodbye to Hermana Webster, I'm going to miss her a ton.
Tuesday our Trujillo North group went to the temple, then said goodbye to
the Moores and went to the airport. President and Sis. Marble (of Trujillo North), the
assistants, and the office elders were there to welcome us with a flag
and a sign so that was cool! We stayed the night at the mission home and
that was a lot of fun. The Marbles are super cool!
Wednesday we found out who are trainers would be and where we 'd be going. I'm with Hermana Delgado from Ecuador (who just finished being trained....)
and I am in the Aeropuerto 3 area of the Cajamarca stake! I said
goodbye to my friends and we got on the bus to Cajamarca. It was 6.5
hours cuz its clear up in the mountains. They showed Bedtime Stories so I watched that. The zone leaders met us at the bus station and then we
went to drop our stuff off at the apartment and went to meet our
pensionistas. Hna Laura is our pension for breakfast and she just lives
upstairs. Hna Kathy is for breakfast and dinner and is a few blocks
away. They're both super nice!
Thursday - my first real day...We had district meeting and that was fun to
meet my zone and district. Then for the rest of the day we had lessons
with members, investigators, and less actives, and did a lot of
walking....
Friday - 3 days a week whoever wants to meets at the church to play soccer
for exercise time. That was fun, then I had my first weekly planning. For lunch, I don't know what we had, but my insides will be purple for weeks. The chicken/veggie mixture was purple, the drink was purple, and the
pudding was purple. Later in the day I extended my first baptismal invitation and she said yes! We'll see what happens with that.
Saturday - there's a little town called Otuzco in our area that we go to
like once a week. We took a super crowded bus out there and had one
lesson. I don't have pictures, so you can look it up. Then we just tried
to find people and had a few lessons.
Sunday - My first Sunday was good, I met a lot of people. The zone leaders
and the sister training leaders are in our ward so that's fun. I had no
idea what was going on in ward council, and it was super long. We had
some lessons with members later, and ate lunch with the sister leaders
pension and ate at the bishop's house at night.
Peru is kinda crazy, especially the drivers. Taking the motos is
fun, but they are crazy drivers! This is super hard, but last night I
was looking at the quotes Aunt Des sent me, and there's one that's by Elder Eyring that says 'if you're on the right path it will always be
uphill'. I know it will get better, I just have to be patient. I love
you all so much, have an amazing week!!!
