Christmas in June!

Christmas came again!! aka getting the Conference Ensign in English hahahaha.

We went down to Trujillo on Tuesday for a multi-zone conference and FINALLY got the Conference Ensign!! I was so excited. Something that President said in the training was something that Elder Godoy (Area President) said in a mission president training. “Do we want to baptize more than we want to sleep? More than we want to eat? More than we want to do something fun for p-day?” It helped us look at our priorities and think of how we can better use our time to teach repentance and baptize converts.

On Wednesday we contacted a reference from a member. Her 13-year-old son died 1.5 years ago of cancer, so we taught her the plan of salvation. She believes in life after death, but I loved being able to explain the whole plan, and that her son is just waiting for her, and that they can be a family for forever. Hopefully we'll be able to keep teaching her so that she and her family can be baptized and sealed.

We visited Raul's mom, Violetta, this week and invited her to be baptized, and she said yes! She has been able to see the changes in Raul and his family and is excited to keep learning. She bailed on us for church yesterday though...

Two weeks ago, we set a baptism date with MariaJose (Raul and Betty's daughter) for June 10, and last night she told us that she got her answer and she is ready to be baptized!!! We are super excited and she is so ready!!! I cannot believe how blessed I am to have been able to meet this incredible family, have a part in teaching them the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and see each one of them get baptized. #BLESSED.

My favorite talk from Conference is from Elder Sabin. I have read it so many times and this is one of my favorite quotes from it.

“We were “all in” as we excitedly made the decision to be valiant defenders of our Heavenly Father’s plan. It is time to stand up and defend His plan again!”

We should all be all in and defend our Heavenly Father and His plan. I love being able to do this in the mission. This is the Lord's work and this is His church. Have a great week!
